Bittersweet reflections

Sometimes, a long reflective walk, with a camera at hand, is what it takes for us to view the world with our eyes fully open.  Only then, grounded in the moment, with all our senses brought back to - and firmly planted in - the ‘here and now’, are we able to truly take everything in…to deeply inhale the air and breathe in the earthy scents of nature; to revel in the captivating colours, painted from a palette, by Mother Nature herself… But such observations are (regrettably) bittersweet.  For, all too often, nature’s creations are tainted by the ways of human nature - a trail of destruction, decay and neglect - littered with greed, with a lack of thought & care.  It is at times like this, which I stop and think to myself, “Oh, my.. sweet, generous earth.. what have we done to you??”
